DEANNA DURBIN(atriz e cantora)

Deanna Durbin Deanna Durbin (O seu verdadeiro nome era Edna Mae Durbin, e nasceu no dia 4 de Dezembro de 1921, em Winnipeg, Manitoba - falecendo no mês de Abril de 2013)1 . Foi uma atriz e cantora canadense que adquiriu grande fama como adolescente em musicais e comédias de Hollywood. Atuou entre os anos de 1936 e 1948, especializando-se em papéis ingênuos, com sua voz de soprano.

Durbin, fez a sua primeira aparição no cinema com Judy Garland, no filme Every Sunday (1936), e subsequentemente assinou contrato com a Universal Studios. Seu sucesso como a filha adolescente ideal em filmes como, Three Smart Girls (1936), foi creditado como a responsável por salvar o estúdio da falência  . Em 1938, com a idade de 17 anos, Durbin foi premiada com o Academy Juvenile Award.

Mais tarde, quando ela amadureceu, Durbin ficando insatisfeita com o papel atribuída a ela no filme, girl-next-door, procurou representar de forma mais feminina e sofisticada. No entanto o film noir Christmas Holiday (br: Férias de Natal), (1944), e o filme Quem matou?:Lady on a Train (1945), não foram, tão bem recebidos como tinha sido anteriormente. Durbin se aposentou de atuar e cantar em 1949. Ela se casou com o produtor e diretor de cinema, Charles Henri David, em 1950, e o casal se mudou para uma casa de campo nos arredores de Paris. Posteriormente, ela retirou-se da vida pública.
